This hip and stylish retailer has been open for just over a year, and is now one of the Toronto’s finest locations to pick up a fabulous pair of shades. Although the store also sells a wide variety of eyewear and contact lenses, it has become known for its extensive array of designer sunglasses. With labels such as Prada, YSL, Gucci, Oliver Peoples, Paul Smith and Ray Ban, Spectacle may not be the cheapest place to get your next pair of sunglasses, but it’s probably the coolest!
I visited the store on a hot and sunny Friday afternoon, and let me tell you, I was in heaven! As someone who believes that accessories are the most important part of a great look, the selection of sunglasses was overwhelming! Luckily however, the staff was friendly, educated, and cool. They were just the right type of people to help me find the right frame for my face. I had my eye on a pair of Gucci sunglasses that I had seen on just about every A-List celebrity this season. When the colour that I wanted was not in stock, I was told that I could have my sunglasses in my colour of choice specially ordered. Although the merchandise is not exactly cheap (most pairs retail for $300+), the quality and style are second to none.
Although it may seem silly to some, but when I put on a pair of designer shades that I know look great, I feel great! While spending a few hundred dollars on a pair of sunglasses can be seem insane, a pair of glasses that fits and flatters your face can be worn for more than one season.
